Company
The birth of FERG
It was 1963, in a small shop in the historic centre of Vic. Three friends were meticulously planning a project: to set up a small metal workshop. They have the basics: trade, experience, contacts and knowledge of the sector.
They know they can offer something that can take off in the market. And they have the most important thing: tons of enthusiasm. They start precariously, with very limited resources: scarce financial means, elementary tools, minimal staff... They all do everything: they work as operators, clerks, salesmen... They work in tough conditions, many hours a day, and also at night. And they decided to give their project a name and a brand: FERG.
The acronyms correspond to the initial letters of the partners, FERnández and Grau, but also to the initials of the values that the company wants to offer: F for Reliability, E for Experience, R for Regularity and G for Guarantee. The design responds to precise and functional criteria: an associative symbol, three interlocking rings that represent the union between the three founding partners. A compact, clear typography, without any 'decorative' concessions. Basic colours: the red of fire tempera and the black of material solidity. And, framing the whole, a rectangle; the most refined geometric shape. Seen now, the brand has lost none of its identifying strength. But more importantly, the values it represents are as valid today in our company as they were on the very first day.
FERG, today
FERG today has the will and, more importantly, the necessary business resources to continue expanding within its sector, opening up new markets, growing in production and improving its offer and service. Because FERG today has industrial assets that place it in an unbeatable position of advantage: firstly, an expert, qualified professional team of great human value, fully identified with the company's objectives and corporate culture. Secondly, extensive experience in a production speciality in which accumulated knowledge (or "Know-how") is an element of capital importance, as well as a highly specialised industrial infrastructure, which has the most advanced, latest generation technological equipment; thirdly, a highly reliable product, which proves its competitiveness day after day, subjected to the hardest efforts in the most demanding industrial mechanisation processes; and finally, what is of the greatest importance to FERG: the trust and loyalty of hundreds of companies spread over the five continents, thanks to whom FERG tools work at full capacity in the most diverse sectors of production activity. Thanks to these industrial assets, FERG now has the optimal resources to remain faithful to its founding commitment: to offer exceptional quality.
